        Query on FWD Cancer coverage

Hi experts, i have bought the FWD cancer coverage a few months ago because i saw the ads and thought it looked decent. But i actually have a ci plan with aviva already. Just wondering now if the FWD cancer coverage is decent to keep, or should i cancel it instead and simply increase the coverage amt with aviva instead? Thanks!

What plan do u have with aviva? Fwd cancer cover as per name only covers cancer, and not a comprehensive CI plan.

Hi boredboiboi, thanks for your reply. I have a MyProtector term plan with Aviva, paying about 1.2k yearly for basic benefits death benefit 130k and terminal illness benefit 130k. It also says supplementary benefits are total and permanent disability advance cover plus 130k abd multipay critical illness cover iii 70k. I also have enhanced incomeshieldadvantage with deluxe care rider with income with one exclusion. I got the fwd plan because i think the likelihood of getting cancer seems high with my family history, and i wasn't sure if i'm insured enough to cover my medical and living expenses. Thanks!

Got exclusion for income but no exclusion for aviva?
I would rather u getting a term plan with eci rider than the fwd cancer plan.
Medical basic expenses is covered by your hospital plan.
The critical illness plan are more of cover loss of income per say.
Have you look into disability income plan too?

Yes, because i was really young and dumb and forgot to declare a surgery like to income when i bought the shield plans like 10 or 15 years ago. Really just buy sign then get it over and done with. I only bought the aviva plan recently and declared then also declared for the income when i upgraded to shield plan and it got excluded. May i know which term plan with eci rider would you recommend? I have not looked into disability plan yet, as i was thinking the likelihood of me getting cancer is higher than getting disabled. Thanks!

Disability income is not because of disability, if illness cause u unable to work also will receive monthly income.

Term and eci will need to quote depends on your coverage then quote u and find the cheapest.

And its right to declare. Else future dont know what happen when claims arise.

Thanks again for your reply boredboiboi. Yes, i feel so silly now that i didn't pay more attention back then to the policy declaration. And noted on the disability insurance, sounds good i should look into that too. For the term and eci, what would be the quote for between a 100k to 200k coverage for female 37 non-smoker? Thanks!

Given that you have the multipay by Aviva, i assume you are concerned about the lesser coverage amount in the event of ECI since you are getting a payout of 210k in the event of a CI

You are welcome. 37 is next or last birthday?
Term plan of what coverage till what age?
Provide me more info to quote.
Like female age next birthday 37 non smoker
        200k death/tpd, eci 200k till age 65 or 70 or 75?
        Eci covers all stages ci.
        If u need more
        Then maybe $400k death/tpd , $200k eci, $200k ci
Ci only covers late stages co

Thanks very much again for your reply boredboiboi. Next birthday 37 non-smoker, 100k death/tpd, eci 100k till 75. And yes to your earlier post, i wasn't sure if the aviva was enough as i have two elderly dependent parents. So wanted an additional policy on top of the aviva to be safe. Thanks!
